DRS Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Frankfurt, 4 May 2011 - The international transaction software provider DRS is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Over the past 10 years, the company has become a market leader and established provider of virtual data rooms in Europe and continues its push into other markets.

In 2001, the founders of DRS wanted to create a company that would revolutionize the process of deal execution by using practical experience and detailed knowledge of due diligence processes. While the core business was initially the organization and set-up of physical data rooms, the company soon introduced DRSdigital, its own state-of-the-art virtual data room. The aim was to develop innovative software that would take the place of the physical process of due diligence. Great focus was placed on innovation with the result that in 2004, DRS became the very first virtual data room provider to bring an integrated Q&A management tool to the market which made it possible to administer and monitor the online question and answer process quickly and efficiently. The market acceptance of this simple, fast and secure integrated virtual data room solution led to rapid growth and further innovation.

Since its founding, DRS has expanded geographically from its original head office in Frankfurt, establishing offices in Switzerland, Benelux, France, Italy, Spain and the US as well as partner organizations in Italy, Greece and South America. Thus situated, the company is well-positioned to support complex regional and global transactions. The DRS client base has also expanded over time beyond those organizations executing large-scale real estate portfolio and financial transactions to those in other industries such as energy and biotechnology.

Drawing on experience from over 3000 transactions, DRS has evolved from being solely a virtual data room provider to providing a full suite of online support tools that apply to the entire lifecycle of complex assets. From the Teaser online marketing tool for attracting interest in an asset to the classic DRSdigital Virtual Data Room for the performance of due diligence on said asset to flexible long-term solutions like the Permanent Data Room, DRS has the right solution for any stage in the lifecycle of a complex asset.
