Zürichsee Medien AG is selling Zürichsee Presse AG to Tamedia AG

Zug, June 2nd 2010 -Zürichsee Medien AG is a communications and media company in Switzerland whose business activities focus on newspapers, printing, magazines, radio, and real estate. The Zürichsee Medien AG includes, among other things, the Zürichsee Presse AG, which, as the leading regional newspaper publisher, boasts a 160 year long company history. By selling the Zürichsee Presse AG to Tamedia AG the Zürichsee Medien AG is moving away from the newspaper business in order to provide the family run enterprise with a clear succession plan.

Tamedia AG is a Swiss media company headquartered in Zurich. Tamedia is one of the leading media companies in Switzerland; their endeavors include daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, online platforms, regional radio and TV stations as well as newspaper printing plants. The acquisition of the Zürichsee Presse AG appears therefore (as expected) to perfectly complement the existing company structure.

Ernst & Young accompanied the transaction in the position of lead M&A advisor, while DRSdigital provided a virtual data room, the platform required to complete Due Diligence.

The virtual data room from DRSdigital, which was equipped with the most modern, effective security technologies, allowed protected data to be exchanged between the different parties beyond the confines of the companies themselves. This allowed the buyer to quickly, easily, and securely access relevant transaction data in order to review it. In addition, the entire question and answer process was handled via the platform.
